KLAUS MÄKELÄ SIGNS TO HARRISONPARROTT

HarrisonParrott is excited to welcome Finnish conductor and cellist Klaus Mäkelä to its roster for worldwide general management.

A former student of Jorma Panula at the Sibelius Academy, Mäkelä has already conducted the Helsinki Philharmonic, Tapiola Sinfonietta, Ostrobothnian Chamber and Turku Philharmonic orchestras.

He will step in to conduct the Gothenburg Symphony on 27, 28 and 29 April; debuts with the Tampere Philharmonic and Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra follow later in the year.

As a cellist, Mäkelä has already performed with all the major orchestras in Finland. He has won numerous prizes including Joensuu Music Festival’s Young Artist of the Year award.
