KLAUS MÄKELÄ MAKES HIS NORTH AMERICAN CONDUCTING DEBUT WITH MINNESOTA ORCHESTRA

This week, Klaus Mäkelä makes his US conducting debut with the Minnesota Orchestra on 20 and 21 April in Minneapolis. 

The programme features Mussorgsky’s Prelude to Khovanshchina, Rachmaninov’s Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini arranged for organ and orchestra with Cameron Carpenter, and Shostakovich’s Symphony No.5 in D minor.

In May, Mäkelä returns to North America to make his Canadian debut with the NAC Orchestra, Ottawa (with Stephen Hough as soloist),then travels with the Tokyo Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra (with Lukáš Vondráček as soloist) to make his Japanese debut, followed by his debut with the Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra
